С помощью платы NodeMCU с микроконтроллером ESP8266 можно создавать устройства интернета вещей для умного дома. Модуль может активно взаимодействовать с устройствами как локальной сети, так и в интернете. Благодаря этому, плату можно использовать для создания интернет сигнализации или игрушек с управлением через смартфон. Можно снимать показания с каких нибудь датчиков, и отправлять результаты на удаленный сервер, или же наоборот, получать информацию с сервера и как-то ее использовать, например, получить текущий курс валют или погоду с интернета и показать эту информацию на дисплее. Контроллер и сам может выступать в роли веб сервера и обрабатывать запросы подключенных клиентов. Для подключения NodeMCU к компьютеру требуется установить драйвер конвертера UART - USB. Для программирования контроллера существует несколько программ. Я использовал Arduino IDE, так как уже работал с Arduino ранее. There are many various types of microcontrollers available in the market, But its on us to select best microcontroller as per our project or application. Major two microcontrollers are popular in today world that is NODEMCU ESP8266 and Arduino UNO. Both are best in different different sections of working. In my opinion there are only few use cases where you should not go with an ESP based board. The ESP based boards are fast have a low power consumption a high memory and Wi-Fi build in also the price is very low. The ESP8266 is still great and extremely useful. Even Lua is useful for quick small projects. In most cases where internet connectivity is required they seem to be the best solution.  Only use case I can think the Arduino boards are better is when it comes to analog inputs. If you working to read a lot of analog input values and you do not want to use a multiplexer than you should go with an Arduino board. As always, “the right tool for the job” is the way to go or combination of tools. Applications of Arduino: 1. The Prototyping of Electronics Products and Systems 2. The ESP8266, designed and manufactured by Espressif Systems, contains the crucial elements of a computer: CPU, RAM, networking (WiFi), and even a modern operating system and SDK. That makes it an excellent choice for Internet of Things (IoT) projects of all kinds. However, as a chip, the ESP8266 is also hard to access and use. You must solder wires, with the appropriate analog voltage, to its pins for the simplest tasks such as powering it on or sending a keystroke to the “computer” on the chip. You also have to program it in low-level machine instructions that can be interpreted by the chip hardware. This level of integration is not a problem using the ESP8266 as an embedded controller chip in mass-produced electronics. It is a huge burden for hobbyists, hackers, or students who want to experiment with it in their own IoT projects. But, what about Arduino? The Arduino project created an open-source hardware design and software SDK for their versatile IoT controller. Similar to NodeMCU, the Arduino hardware is a microcontroller board with a USB connector, LED lights, and standard data pins. It also defines standard interfaces to interact with sensors or other boards. But unlike NodeMCU, the Arduino board can have different types of CPU chips (typically an ARM or Intel x86 chip) with memory chips, and a variety of programming environments. There is an Arduino reference design for the ESP8266 chip as well. However, the flexibility of Arduino also means significant variations across different vendors. For example, most Arduino boards do not have WiFi capabilities, and some even have a serial data port instead of a USB port. #nodemcu
