Hi everyone! My name is Ellen and welcome to my channel! I’ve finally decided to start a YouTube channel so I can share with y'all my life here in España and to celebrate new beginnings I made a short film about Valencia - my home for the last years. Nothing fancy, just me walking around the old town in the new normal / nueva normalidad. I barely go out these days because of the pandemic but Sundays used to be my “art day and Ellen not staying at home day” I'd go out early in the morning to film/take pictures and then stay at one of my favourite cafes to edit, do a bit of journaling, draw and yeah try to study Spanish (really hard after getting some good pictures/footages lol). I have always wanted to film myself going around Valencia so I can send a nice video to family and friends who are back home and to people I met in this lovely city. Hopefully, it can also reach those who have visited/lived in Valencia, those who don’t know about this city and those from here. Anyways, I don’t know if I did the city justice in this video, there’s just so much to show! I hope you enjoy it! btw what makes a day lovely for you? Does it also involve coffee? Give this video some love, leave a comment and share it to others. I can’t wait to share with y’all things I’m working on! music Clean by Candy 🤍 Vals "amor" by Felipe Villanueva

Living in Barcelona: The pros and cons & things to know before moving to Barcelona, Spain. Subscribe to my channel to see more videos related to traveling and cultures! During my university studies I moved from Finland to Southern Europe to study abroad in Barcelona, Spain for 5 months (September 2018 to January 2019). Today I'll share my thoughts about some of the pros and cons of living in Barcelona. 🙌 In my last video I talked about why I think Finland is a good place to live and in today's video I want to share my thoughts on reasons why Barcelona is a good place to live. However, I also want to discuss the negatives about living in Barcelona from a foreigner's perspective because as any other place, even Barcelona isn't perfect. 😃 Living abroad as a student is a fantastic experience and living in Spain has its perks. I had a great time living in the beautiful city of Barcelona. It has the perfect combination of beach and city, there are plenty of lovely restaurants, cafes, bars, and there are so many things to do in Barcelona. I also loved the weather in Barcelona since it was sunny almost all the time and quite warm even in the winter, at least when compared to the Finnish winter. The rent in Barcelona can be expensive though and it can be a bit challenging to find a place to rent in the city. Anyway, studying abroad is a great experience and I recommend anyone to experience it! It's a great way to learn about different cultures and also to see your home country from a different perspective. Hi! We are Dianne, Guillermo and Che seeking paradise in Valencia, Spain. Valencia is the third largest city in Spain, it's located on the southeastern coast where the Turia river meets the Mediterranean Sea. They speak 2 official languages...Valencian and Spanish. Although English was spoken by many. You can walk everywhere in Valencia. With no hills and perpetual sun, you’ll find yourself doing this more than you think. Avid cyclists will also delight in knowing that Valencia is a bike-friendly city. The expat community in Valencia has grown greatly in recent years with an influx of people arriving from Bolivia, Romania, Italy, Colombia and Morocco. Life seems easier here and less stressful, this city has a collection of sights and feelings rather than just one highlight or activity; the people, the energy, the diverse architecture, the street art, the parks, the long beach, the lively nightlife and the random, spontaneous experiences you can get caught up in without even planning for them. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more videos in Europe. Life in Spain - When the novelty wears off Reality is a lot of people will blame Spain for not being for them. But the big question is did they enter Spain with the right mindset? As learning a new language, moving to a new location and becoming part of a completely new environment and community is a big leap. At the same time, it is being able to see that this will occur and not the thoughts of Spain based on the annual holiday. Which gives the belief that its all beach, sunshine, and Sangria. There is a lot more to Spain and there is a lot to do to keep busy even if retired.
♥ These are some differences I noticed between living in the US and Spain (Washington State and Madrid) obviously things differ between cities, and there are many other differences that I did not mention in the video...the life is very different between the two countries and I love both! I'm a black girl living in Spain and this is my experience. Hey there! if you're new here then you probably don't know that I've been living in Valencia Spain for 2 years now. I'm sure you've clicked on this video because you are interested in finding out about what's it's like being black and living in Spain. It's horrible how people of my color and myself have to think about how the color of our skin affects our lives, but today I wanted to share how being black and in Spain is going for me. I love it here! Truly the people are so nice, and while I can't speak for everyone, I do not feel as if I am being looked at more for the color of my skin. Most people here mind their business. There have been a few occasions where I may get a couple stares, especially from the security guards at the supermarkets, but I try to not let that faze me. Truly I walk around as if I own the place sometimes😂 I am very comfortable here and not fazed at all that I am a black girl all alone in Spain. Plus there are many black people here in Spain, Valencia specifically is full of international people which I absolutely love, and speaking from assumptions I'm sure that Madrid and Barcelona are very international as well. I've had complete strangers dm me and asked me about life as a black girl in Spain, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to leave a comment down below or dm me on my instagram: chelcyexavier. Cost of living, the ability to live outside all year, and transportation are just some of the reasons we prefer living in Spain than the USA. I sit down with my friend Kelsey to see what she likes so much about Spain and why after living here for 5 years and moving back to the US, she keeps coming back every year. Spain is the world's fifty-second largest country and Europe's fourth largest country. Economy of Spain is the world's thirteenth-largest by nominal GDP, and it is also one of the largest in the world by purchasing power parity. In 2017, Spain was the second most visited country in the world, recording 82 million tourists. State education in Spain is free and compulsory from the age of six to sixteen. The current education system is regulated by the 2006 educational law. Spanish National Health System is considered one of the best in the world, in 7th position in the ranking elaborated by the World Health Organization. The health care is public, universal and free for any legal citizen of Spain. It’s no wonder that it’s one of the most popular destinations for expatriate, not to mention that it is an extremely affordable option too. Starting a new life in Spain is a dream for many people. But which Spanish city should you choose? Here are the top 10 most livable cities in Spain in 2019: 1. Madrid. 2. Barcelona. 3. Alicante. 4. San Sebastian. 5. Malaga. 6. Valencia. 7. Seville. 8. Palma, Mallorca. 9. Ibiza. 10. Granada. Thanks for watching this video. I hope it's useful for you. (This article is an opinion based on facts and is meant as infotainment).
In this video we are going to talk about the best places to live in Spain. For this list I have considered a number of important factors such as: quality of life, cost of living, transport infrastructure, availability of services and entertainment. Book a consultation call: 🤍 Contact me: 🤍 Check our other videos: 🤍 00:00 Intro 00:47 Madrid Madrid is also the most important financial center in Spain. This certainly has a number of advantages, as the city has the highest average salaries in the country, but at the same time, Madrid is also the most expensive city in Spain in terms of cost of living. Overall the pros outweigh the cons in the case of Madrid. The city has an excellent transport infrastructure, with direct flights to many European, North and South American cities, at the same time it is a great railway hub to travel to all directions in continental Spain. 01:46 Valencia Valencia is one of the best options if you want to live near the beach, but at the same enjoy the highly developed infrastructure of a modern large city in Western Europe. Valencia is actually the third largest city in Spain, just behind the capital Madrid and Barcelona. The advantage of Valencia is that it is a little bit off the radar, so you will definitely see less tourists while strolling around Valencia than in the two largest cities in the country. For the same reason, Valencia is also slightly cheaper than Madrid and Barcelona. 02:41 Seville Sevilla is the fourth largest city in Spain, and the capital of the Andalusia region. Just like Valencia, Seville is also a city with a highly advanced infrastructure, and you won’t miss a thing compared to the availability and quality of services when compared to the capital Madrid. Prices in Seville are also definitely more inviting than in the capital Madrid, and even lower than in Valencia. As a matter of fact the region of Andalusia is known for being one of the most affordable in Spain. 03:26 Galicia Galicia is a region in the Northwestern part of Spain, known for its lush green forests, scenic hills and untamed beaches on the Atlantic ocean. Culturally, Galicia is also quite special. The region of present day Galicia was once a Celtic nation, and Galicia also has its own language, the Gallego. The Galician language is a Romance language that shares a number of common elements with Portuguese and Castilian Spanish. The weather in Galicia is also quite different from other parts of Spain, which can be an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on your taste. It is definitely cooler in Galicia then in most other regions of Spain. So, while in summer it is often too hot in Madrid, in Galicia the temperature remains pleasant. But, winter in Galicia is definitely rainy and windy. 04:51 Barcelona Barcelona is the next city in our list today, and I guess you are not surprised at all to see the largest city in Catalonia featured among the best cities to live in Spain. Barcelona is the city in Spain that receives the highest amount of international tourists, and it is easy to understand why. It has everything you can expect for a short visit: amazing cultural attractions like the Parc Guell and the Sagrada Familia, a bustling nightlife and of course, the beach. On the other hand, Barcelona has some disadvantages that may be a deal breaker for some. It definitely has a problem with over tourism and real estate is not on the cheap side. 05:38 Granada Granada is a city in the Andalusian region of Southern Spain, mostly known for its iconic Alhambra, a palace complex overlooking the city. Granada is a mid sized city, with slightly more than 200 thousand inhabitants, and the ideal place if you don’t want to live in a metropolis in Spain. It enjoys a high level of safety, and quaint streets full of places to enjoy the most exquisite Spanish tapas. 06:30 Malaga Malaga is the last city in our list of the best places to live in Spain, and it also one of the largest cities in the country. The city is in one of the sunniest areas of Spain, and has one of the most sought beaches in the country. Considering its touristic vein, Malaga also has great transport connections with the rest of Europe. Its airport is one of the busiest in Spain, with direct flights to most large cities in Europe. 07:27 Extra Place Andorra One of the main reasons why I have decided to include Andorra in this list, despite the fact that it is an independent country and not part of Spain, is for its taxes. Spain has pretty high taxes for most types of income, including pensions, and this is one of the reasons a lot of people decide to skip Spain for some more tax friendly locations. That’s why Andorra can be a relevant option.
With Inflation rising across Europe, many countries are facing a cost of living crisis. In Spain, one of the hardest hit countries, the cost of food and energy has risen sharply with the price of electricity almost doubling in the last year. The Spanish government has introduced tax cuts and promised to increase minimum wage in an attempt to compensate, but Spanish workers are still struggling to make ends meet.
