Rebel. Misfit. Genius. Watch the new trailer for #EmilyMovie and delve into the mind behind Wuthering Heights. In cinemas October 14. “EMILY” tells the imagined life of one of the world’s most famous authors, Emily Brontë. The film stars Emma Mackey (“Sex Education”, “Death on the Nile”) as Emily, a rebel and misfit, as she finds her voice and writes the literary classic Wuthering Heights. “EMILY” explores the relationships that inspired her – her raw, passionate sisterhood with Charlotte (Alexandra Dowling – “The Musketeers”) and Anne (Amelia Gething – “The Spanish Princess”); her first aching, forbidden love for Weightman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen – “The Lost Daughter”, “The Haunting of Bly Manor”) and her care for her maverick brother (Fionn Whitehead – “The Duke”, “Dunkirk”) whom she idolises. Frances O’Connor makes her directorial debut with “EMILY,” from her own original screenplay. The film also stars Adrian Dunbar (“Line of Duty”) and Gemma Jones (“Bridget Jones’s Baby”, “Gentleman Jack”).
Boy, did they get the wrong chick to play her.
Aw hooap der's some dialect representation i dis fillum cos Brontë hersen wor varry weel acquainted wi an understooid West Ridin Yorkshire dialect an haa to write it (Joaseph i Wutherin Heeghts be'in a prime example). It's reight impoartant naa-a-days when dialect speich is mooastly deein aat. Ommost ivveryone back i dem days at worn't upper class wor dialect speikers soo' it meks sense historically-like to include em.
I hope there's some dialect representation in this film 'cause Brontë herself was very well acquainted with and understood West Riding Yorkshire dialect and how to write it (Joseph in Wuthering heights being a prime example.) It's really important nowadays when dialect speech is mostly dying out. Almost everyone back in those days that wasn't upper class were dialect speakers so it makes sense historically to include them.
Just got back from the premiere it was a beautiful film the music was actually amazing
Looks to be very loosely based on Emily's life but I will give it a whirl as a piece with artitistic licence. Much of Emily's life remains a mystery so I am intrigued as to what stodge they have filled the gaps with. XX
Of course they made it into a love story
Emma Mackey in a lead role in a movie, looking forward to it
Can anyone know what is the music that's at the trailer?Wonderful piece and trailer !

In my younger days as a high schooler I feel in love with my first love my Jessica Marie. I wrote her 300 pages of love poems and love letters and each one of those love poems and love letters is a symbol of 1 day of the year. Before I started writing her those poems I read alot of Emily Dickenson's poems and writings Emily influenced me alot now I have love poems published in Amazon dedicated to that first girl I've ever love my Jessica Marie.
